On 13 Jan the monthly environmental lecture was held at Jaco Pastorius Community Center. The speaker was Barry Heimlich, who also gave an informative presentation on birds last year. The topic this time around was 'Global Climate Change'. Mr. Heimlich gave a 3-part talk covering various temperature cycles over the last 600,000 years. He contends that post-World War II industrialization caused a cooling cycle; a warming trend began with the Clean Air Act. He has a passion for this subject because of his grandchildren and the world they will inherit.
Attendance was light, as it usually is at these lectures. Please let your neighbors know about the series; it is generally a good program for our city.
